An American Carol - You'd think that a parody of Micheal Moore would write itself. Unfortunately, they forgot to bring the funny. Go watch one of Moore's films for a real laugh.
The Chronicles of Naria: Prince Caspian - Loved it. Better than the first one by miles. Bring on Dawn Treader.
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - Beat for beat, it's a Gump clone (they even pinched Gump's screenwriter, Eric Roth). And yet . . . it's wonderful from start to finish.
Downfall - One of the best WWII films I've ever seen. I'm going to be revising my Film Faves of 2004 and add this to it. It's that good.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army - I liked it better than the first one, but it still lacked a script worthy of the action and visuals.
The Incredible Hulk - What a surprise this was. I'd heard it was good, but I didn't expect it to be Iron Man good.
Kung Fu Panda - A feast for the eyes. A tour de force of character design and animation. If only the story and characters had engaged me more . . .
Singin' In The Rain - Surprisingly entertaining. I could watch Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor dance all day.
Valkyrie - Don't believe the bad reviews and negative Cruise publicity. This is a great film. One of my favorites of the year.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but it's nice to hear Valkyrie get some love. All the negativity hasn't deminished my desire to see it (mostly for the Branagh, but also for other stuff), but it's good to hear someone get past Tom Cruise in their consideration of it.

Bad new, my friend . . . Branagh isn't in it all that much. but don't let that stop you from seeing it. This film has a stellar cast (casting seems to be one of Singer's strengths), but it's Cruise's show from start to end.

That IS bad news, but I'm still interested. I'd completely forgotten that it was a Singer film and that's reason enough right there.
