I hate hate HATE April Fool's Day on the internet. Once a year, every website feels the need to post false information to show how clever they can be. "Lighten up, Frampton" you say. I know, I know. It's one day a year and it's all in fun.
Whatever.
It's still annoying.
So in the spirit of walking the walk, here's a web posting with no falseness whatsoever . . . new Marvel Masterpieces sketch cards!
Enjoy!-Otis
I thought it would be fun to show everyone how I draw a card from start to finish, so I recorded myself drawing this "Watcher" card:
Here is Part 1 (Parts 2 and 3 are behind the cut):

Here is my second batch of approved Marvel Mastrpieces II cards:
These cards were drawn with Micron pens and Prismacolor markers/pencils.
Characters shown: Callisto, Caliban, Cloak & Dagger, Captain Marvel, Captain America, Cyclops, Chamber, Carnage, Deadpool, Colossus, Daredevil, Corsair.
More soon!

Here is the first batch of approved Marvel Masterpieces II cards:
These cards were drawn with Micron pens and Prismacolor markers/pencils.
Characters shown: Annihilus, Arcade, Bullseye, Beta Ray Bill, Absorbing Man, Cable, Bishop, Blob and Alicia Masters.
I'm starting each day with these cards. I'll be doing three a day for the next month and a half. I plan to work my way through the Marvel Universe and never repeat a character, so this should be fun. Due to my busy comic book schedule I only have time for quickie head shots for these cards, but I'm very happy with what I've done so far. I hope everyone feels the same.
More soon!

UPDATE: Okay, I'm getting a lot of PMs, e-mails,
comments, etc from artists on this set expressing surprise that I have
begun posting scans. So here's how it works . . .
If you want to show off YOUR cards publicly, you have to scan them,
e-mail a batch to Mark (do NOT send individual card scans). He will
send the scans to Marvel for approval and if they ARE approved, you can
proceed to post them online.
Mark has actually ASKED us to scan them in his e-mails, so he can move the approval process along.
It's really that simple. I am not a special case, this applies to
everyone, so get to scanning and I look forward to seeing your cards!

I whipped up a few X-Men scribbles tonight between sketch cards and inking pages of Oddly Normal: Fignation Times (click the image below for a larger view):
These were drawn with Micron pens and Prismacolor markers/pencils on regular printer paper.
I'll be starting work on the Marvel Masterpieces II sketch card set soon, and I wanted to establish the style I'll be using. I'm not going to have a lot of time to devote to this set, so I'll be doing all quickie head shots like you see here. I'll also be doing every card in sepia tones, which is a color style I've come to love in the last couple of years. Upper Deck will be giving all of the artists on this set 10 blanks to do with as they please and I'll be doing more detailed, full color cards for those (with a hint of sepia, so as to match the other cards). As usual, the 10 cards I get back after the set has been released will go up for sale to whomever wants them.

UPDATE: Seven of the ten extra Marvel Masterpieces cards are already spoken for!
